A Note from Gina Ford, CEO of BioNTX

As I close my first six weeks as CEO of BioNTX, I have been focused on one priority: understanding where we are and where we need to go.

I have spent the past several weeks meeting with founders, researchers, corporate leaders, investors, educators, and public sector partners across North Texas. The takeaway is clear: this region has the talent, the science, and the ambition to compete alongside the nation’s leading life science markets. What we need now is tighter alignment, greater visibility, and a more coordinated push forward.

That is where BioNTX comes in.

Our role is not simply to convene, it is to drive connection, accelerate growth, and position North Texas as a leading life sciences market. That requires focus and a commitment to measurable outcomes.

I am encouraged by the engagement I have seen across our ecosystem and appreciative of the sponsors, members, and partners who continue to invest in its success. That support is critical and it will be matched with clear direction and execution.

As we move forward, the priorities are becoming clear: stronger alignment across the ecosystem, greater national visibility, and real pathways for companies at every stage to grow and advance here.

We have the foundation. Now it is time to take the next steps—focused, deliberate, and aligned.

THBI Texas Life Sciences Summit:

A Statewide Ecosystem in Motion

Attending the Texas Life Sciences Summit provided a clear view into the momentum building across our state and the role North Texas plays within that broader landscape.

What stood out most was the alignment across regions and sectors. Leaders from industry, academia, government, and investment communities are working in greater coordination to advance Texas as a globally competitive life sciences hub. From startup growth to biomanufacturing and workforce development, the strategy is intentional and already in motion.

These conversations reinforced a simple truth: the strength of our ecosystem lies in its connectivity. Each region brings unique capabilities, and together, they form a powerful platform for innovation and scale.

BIO BREAK Frisco: The Ecosystem in Action

BioNTX was proud to host our second BIO BREAK Frisco, and the continued growth in attendance and engagement is a clear signal of the momentum building across the North Texas life sciences ecosystem.

Each BIO BREAK is designed to create space for authentic connection and Frisco delivered once again. Founders, executives, researchers, and professionals from across the region came together in a dynamic, welcoming environment that reflected what we strive to build every day at BioNTX: an ecosystem in action. Conversations turned into connections, and connections into opportunities, demonstrating the power of convening the right people at the right time.

A special thank you to our valued sponsor, Harness IP, for hosting and helping create an exceptional experience. Their team not only provided a strong setting for engagement, but also shared insight into the expertise and capabilities they bring to the ecosystem, further reinforcing the importance of strategic partners in supporting innovation and growth.

These moments where the community comes together are what drive collaboration forward and strengthen the foundation of North Texas as a leading life sciences hub.

MEMBER SPOTLIGHT

Preparing for What’s Ahead: Healthcare, Security & FIFA 2026

As BioNTX’s Official Security and Risk Intelligence Partner, The North Group is committed to providing a clear, real-time view of the evolving threat landscape across the healthcare and biotech sectors. Through integrated intelligence and operational insight, we identify risks before they materialize—ensuring organizations are prepared ahead of impact, not reacting after the fact.

With global events like the FIFA World Cup 2026 approaching, the role of healthcare systems extends far beyond clinical care, becoming a critical component of regional security, resilience, and coordinated response.

In its ongoing FIFA 2026 Threat Series, the TNG Intelligence Division highlights the increasing pressure placed on healthcare infrastructure as both essential service providers and frontline responders. This edition focuses on preparedness across a range of high-impact scenarios, including mass casualty incidents, CBRN exposure, crowd-related injuries, and heat-related emergencies.

Equally important are the evolving operational risks healthcare systems must anticipate—from ransomware attacks targeting hospital networks to managing multi-language patient surges, identifying trafficking victims, and responding to increases in alcohol-related trauma.

The takeaway is clear: healthcare is not a secondary consideration—it is central to event security and regional readiness. Effective preparedness requires more than capacity; it demands coordinated planning, integrated intelligence, and continuity across healthcare, emergency response, and security operations.

In our role as BioNTX’s Official Security & Risk Intelligence Partner, the TNG Intelligence Division plays a critical role in advancing this integrated approach. Their expertise supports alignment across stakeholders, helping ensure that North Texas is not only prepared, but positioned to respond with clarity and coordination when it matters most.

This work reflects a broader truth within the BioNTX ecosystem: resilience, innovation, and collaboration must extend beyond the lab and into the systems that protect and sustain our communities.

If your organization is assessing risk or preparedness, our team is available to support.
