Dallas College Receives HRSA Grant to Support Nursing Students

Dallas College announced that its School of Health Sciences has received funding from the U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) to strengthen the nursing workforce and expand access for economically challenged students.

Distributed over the next four years, the grant aims to increase both enrollment and success among nursing students while addressing the growing demand for qualified nurses across North Texas.

Funding will provide scholarships for students pursuing an Associate of Applied Science in Nursing or the RN-to-BSN degree, along with a $350 per semester stipend to help offset living and supply costs. The grant will also cover laptop and exam fees, licensure preparation resources, and faculty professional development, including participation in national conferences.

A part-time program evaluator will help guide continuous improvement to ensure students and faculty receive the resources needed to build a stronger, more resilient healthcare workforce.
