Opsin Biotherapeutics Awarded $2.35 Million NIH Grant for Chronic Pain Therapy

Bedford-based Opsin Biotherapeutics has been awarded a two-year, $2.35 million Phase II SBIR grant from the NIH’s National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke to advance its optogenetic neuromodulation technology for chronic pain. The non-dilutive funding will support IND-enabling development of a non-viral, light-based approach designed to provide a cell-type-selective alternative to traditional electrical spinal cord stimulation.
