The University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) Expands Brain Health Research
UTA is ramping up its brain health research efforts, with new work led by cognitive neuroscientist Steven Weisberg examining how guided training in navigation and verbal memory can improve cognitive functions rather than increase brain size. The university’s investment in its $6.2 million Clinical Imaging Research Center which includes a 3‑Tesla MRI machine underscores UTA's commitment to studying how brain networks change with training and aging and how this may inform interventions for conditions like Alzheimer’s disease.
