UNT Health Fort Worth Hosts Pain Science Education Workshop
An internationally recognized expert in pain science, Adriaan Louw, Ph.D., will lead a two-day continuing education workshop at UNT Health Fort Worth on Nov. 1–2. Dr. Louw, director of the Therapeutic Neuroscience Research Group, has published more than 100 peer-reviewed articles and is known for bridging cutting-edge research in neurobiology and neurophysiology with practical applications in patient care. The workshop will explore pain neuroscience education, an approach that reframes pain as a complex process generated by the brain rather than a simple signal of tissue damage. Research shows that when patients better understand the biology of pain, they experience reduced fear, improved movement, and greater overall function—leading to lower disability rates and stronger engagement in their recovery.
