UNT Health Researchers Study Thermoregulation to Better Understand Body Temperature Control and Health

Researchers at UNT Health Fort Worth’s College of Biomedical and Translational Sciences (CBTS) are investigating the biological mechanisms that regulate thermoregulation, the body’s ability to maintain stable internal temperature despite environmental changes. The research examines how physiological systems, including metabolism, circulation, and nervous system responses, influence temperature control and adaptation to heat or cold stress. Findings from this work may contribute to a better understanding of human health, exercise performance, aging, and conditions affected by impaired temperature regulation.
